DAISy-PCOS Leaders

“Our DAISy-PCOS Leaders are passionate about reducing health inequality for women with PCOS through becoming community advocates, sharing their learning, skills and experiences with others in their own authentic voices.”

In 2020 we recruited a cohort of women to take part in our DAISy-PCOS Leadership Programme. They will undertake training to build their knowledge, skills and confidence as PCOS advocates and leaders in their communities. Our unique training programme is delivered by a multidisciplinary team at the Institute of Metabolism & Systems Research (IMSR), with the support of specialists working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Birmingham Women’s Hospital. In addition we also work with professionals in leadership development, mental health advocacy and community engagement to provide a holistic training concept. Together the DAISy-PCOS Leaders will also work with our research team to co-develop and deliver PCOS-focused public engagement activities to raise awareness and reduce stigma of PCOS.

Image above depicts members of the DAISY-PCOS Leadership programme. Unfortunately due to the pandemic and other personal reasons (work schedules, newborn baby, illness etc.) not all of our leaders could meet up for the photoshoot! All pictured took lateral flow tests prior to participation.

Meet the womxn taking part in our DAISy-PCOS Leadership Programme.

We value diversity, equality and inclusion.
